Hold on…Holden steps up at the 2011 Melbourne Motor Show

Otherwise known as the Commodore Car Company, Holden proved that is was more than just that, unveiling three new stars at the 2011 Melbourne Motor Show- the Barina, the Cruze hatch and the Colorado four-wheel-drive.

Holden Australia Managing Director, Mike Devereux said “The introduction of the stylish Australian-born hatch would bolster the Cruze line-up…the Cruze has been a stand-out success, from the moment it launched”, he said. “Holden is a lot more than one car line”, he added. “We can’t wait to see how customers in a hatch market like Australia respond to the car…we think the hatch will hit a sweet spot with buyers looking for great design, versatility and practicality.”

GM vice president for global public policy, Robert Ferguson, echoed similar sentiments in declaring that Holden was fundamentally important to the car giant. “We are optimistic about the Australian marketplace and the products produced there…the research and engineering done in Australia is benefiting the company worldwide.”

Ahead of its 2012 launch, Holden anticipates the new Colorado to be a real Aussie star. Mr Devereux said the show car demonstrated “more than a hint” of what buyers could expect next year.

Holden is a fair dinkum Aussie!
