BMW 1 Series – Style and speed
We have had our appetites excited. We have been teased with spy pictures and that’s all we had – pictures. And now we have the real thing – BMW’s most exciting performance car- the BMW 1 Series M.
The differences between the current BMW 1 Series and the new 1 Series M are quite extensive.
- The protruding wheel arches
- The widened axles and huge 19-inch alloy wheels
- The beefy quad exhaust tailpipes
- The strong front and rear bumpers with curved air intakes
- The racing-style door mirrors
At the heart of this machine, there is the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 340 horsepower. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, then see it as 30bhp more than the Porche Boxter S!!!….Oh yes! The Acceleration is ferocious – taking just 4.9 seconds to reach 100kmph. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250kmph. And with a variety of parts taken from to its bigger sibling, the M3, the braking performance would without question, be extraordinary.
BMW are confident the 1 Series M should record a much faster lap than the E46 BMW M3, on the infamous Nordschleife.
The BMW 1 Series M Coupe is on sale now since May, with prices starting from $108k.
