Col Crawford 3rd Generation Family Owned and Operated
Welcome to 2015! Here’s some news about our business that you might have missed: we are now truly a 3rd generation, family owned and operated business.
How lucky am I to have a dad like Col, who being entrepreneurial all those 47 years ago started and built this company and then welcomed me into his business affairs some 30 years ago, with the intent for me to basically take over – simply amazing.
Col took things from a used car yard to a multi franchise, prominent local business – dad had a slogan: “How Will Col Do It?”… well; he has done it really well!
Now my son, Harrison (Col’s eldest grandson), is well entrenched in the business in our fleet operation and my middle son, Jake, has also been with the company for almost a year now, learning the service side of the business. Both father and grandfather are proud of how the 3rd generation has approached their early years at work and how they are progressing. From my point of view it is very special to have two of the boys working with me each day and yes, there is a 3rd son still at school who is likely only a few years away from coming on board.
We all celebrated Col’s 81st birthday just last week at a special place that he loves; Peats Bite on the Hawkesbury. What a great day. We reflect on the special part of the world we live in and the great local community we are a part of. Whilst one local car dealer, that in times past was family owned, has recently promoted its “past and heritage”, all of us at Col Crawford are very proud and motivated by the fact that we are still and truly family owned, operated and very much local.
We hope everyone’s Christmas and New Year was enjoyable and wish everyone all the best for 2015. We will remain at Pittwater road Brookvale (and also at Narrabeen) for anyone that wants to find us and have us look after their motoring needs.
